International Ayurveda Congress is a joint effort of three organizations: the International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation, from The Netherlands; the All India Ayurvedic Congress, New Delhi; and the International Academy of Ayurveda, Pune.

These International Congresses are held regularly, at least once in two years. The Congresses are inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's World Plan for Perfect Health and Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's initiative to spread the highest quality of knowledge, practice and products of Ayurveda throughout the world.

The conferences support the establishment of Ayurveda as a prevention-oriented, perfect health care system for the world, a system that is authentic and reliable. The Congress aims to establish Ayurveda as the most ancient, scientific and holistic health care system, which is capable of leading the world towards an increasingly disease-free society. Since Ayurveda is cost effective and easy to implement, it is capable of bringing about self-sufficiency in health care in every nation.

World experts in the field of Ayurveda come together and bring out a new depth of understanding of Ayurveda. New breakthrough scientific researches on Ayurveda are presented, and In-depth formulation of policies to make Ayurveda available in totality throughout the world is discussed.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi connected Ayurveda with its origin in the Veda – the totality of natural law, the unified wholeness of life at the basis of all manifest creation. He established Ayurveda as the science of wholeness of life, as a holistic, scientific system of natural health care for preventing and curing disease, preserving health, and promoting longevity and happiness. Hence, the theme of the Eighth International Ayurveda Congress will be: "Ayurveda – The Science of Wholeness of Life. Evidence-Based Scientific Solutions".

This Congress is organised and hosted by D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, and co-organised by the All-India Ayurvedic Congress, New Delhi; the International Academy of Ayurved, Pune; and the International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation, The Netherlands.

Pune, known as the cultural capital of Maharashtra State, is an education hub and home to ancient Vedic wisdom, including Ayurveda. Bhimashankar, the Jyotirling temple, a revered pilgrimage place of one of India’s 12 Jyotirlingas, is also situated in the Pune district.

This Congress is a forum for leading international experts and professionals in Ayurveda to share their works and expand their scope of knowledge. Research scientists, doctors, and scholars worldwide with expertise in Ayurvedic and Western medicine will discuss various themes and scientific evidence on preventing disease, promoting longevity, and alleviating specific health conditions with Ayurveda. The Congress will emphasise exchanging ideas to increase the acceptance and application of Ayurvedic methods all over the globe

7th INTERNATIONAL AYURVEDA CONGRESS

“Ayurveda – Holistic Health for All”

Kathmandu, Nepal

3 to 5 March 2023

The All India Ayurvedic Congress, New Delhi, the International Academy of Ayurveda, Pune, and the International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation, The Netherlands, supported by the Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation as the local host, organized the seventh International Ayurveda Congress, which took place from 3 to 5 March 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal – for the first time in Asia.

Going centuries back, Nepal has a rich history of Ayurveda and to this day it is recognised as a core part of their culture and routine. Rare Ayurvedic medicines and herbs are also naturally growing throughout the Himalayan valleys.

The Congress was a forum for international leading experts and professionals interested in Ayurveda, to expand their scope of knowledge. Workshops were held on medical, herbal, pharma, engineering and science of Ayurveda. Topics relating to Ideal Health, Prevention of Chronic Disorders, and natural approaches to the reversal of ageing were discussed.

Special emphasis was laid on exchanging ideas how to increase the acceptance and application of Ayurvedic methods all over the globe. The goal was to formulate a Roadmap for Holistic Health for All through Ayurveda in the following 4 areas:

  • Establishing highest quality education and training in Ayurveda for medical practitioners as well as for the public in each country.
  • Guiding the practice of various preventative approaches in Ayurveda and thereby detecting and correcting physiological imbalances in their early stages.
  • Promote scientific research on Ayurveda to showcase preventive and curative benefits in healthcare and encourage its global recognition.
  • Ensuring global availability of authentic Ayurveda products by overcoming regulatory hurdles and implementing procedures to guarantee safety and purity.
 

The Congress was held at the most exclusive five star hotel in Nepal, the Soaltee Kathmandu. This luxurious property is equipped with four fine dining restaurants of different cuisines, fitness gym, spa with sauna and steam bath, pool, tennis courts, lounges and business centers. Participants enjoyed the comfort of the hotel gathering together to discuss the future of Ayurveda and its role versus new advancing technologies.

11th EUROPEAN CONGRESS FOR INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE &

5th INTERNATIONAL AYURVEDA CONGRESS

“The Future of Comprehensive Patient Care”

21 – 23 September 2018 — Ljubljana, Slovenia

The Fifth International Ayurveda Congress has been held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 21st to 23rd of September 2018. This congress illuminated the time-tested knowledge of Ayurveda with up-to-date insights from modern science. Break-through research about consciousness based approach to cardiovascular disorders and specific Ayurveda approach to autoimmune disorders were presented — locating the inner healing intelligence of the human physiology to achieving the ultimate goal of Ayurveda – disease free Society.

World’s leading Ayurvedic practitioners and researchers came together to showcase scientifically verified solutions to today’s problems of Lifestyle disorders in the fields of individual and public health. Vaidyas and health professionals engaged in Ayurvedic research presented their findings.

All health professionals wishing to expand the scope and effectiveness of their medical practice were invited to attend. In addition, policymakers and administrators in the field of health were invited to join the conference to gain insights to improve health care and reduce costs. The 5th Ayurveda Congress joined its efforts to rise the public awareness of the need for holistic approach to health with other sections of the 11th European Congress for Integrative Medicine, which was the "umbrella" event for all of them.

and Integrative Medicine in Public Health

Third International Ayurveda Congress

The growing demand of the brazilian population for the formulation of policies aimed at the institutionalization of the integral therapeutic approaches and the resources used in the Unified Health System responds to the discussions held in national forums such as the National Health Conferences and international conferences such as the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) to Member States.

The Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health (PICS), designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) as Traditional and Complementary Medicines (T&CM), were institutionalized in the Unified Health System (SUS) through the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices (PNPIC), which includes guidelines and institutional responsibilities for offering services in Homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Anthroposophic Medicine, Naturopathy, Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapy, Social Therapy/Crenotherapy, Reiki, Yoga, Art Therapy, Biodance, Circular Dance, Meditation, Music Therapy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Reflexotherapy, Shantala and Integrative Community Therapy.
